Last year, The Chainsmokers took some heat after dissing one of Lady Gaga's songs in an interview. During their time with with Howard Stern on Tuesday's Howard Stern Show, The Chainsmokers explain that the comment was taken out of context.
Alex Pall of The Chainsmokers quickly faced backlash from Lady Gaga's fans when Pall bluntly said “it sucks.” Following the comment, Halsey and Mark Ronson came out to defend Lady Gaga. Lady Gaga even fired back after releasing his following song where she asked The Chainsmokers if it had met their standards.

In a deleted tweet, The Chainsmokers responded on October 18, 2016 with the words “Haha @ladyagaga RESPECT.”
Even though the air has been cleared for the most part, The Chainsmokers told Howard Stern that it “came out so much worse” than he intended. “I’m 32 now and no one’s given a sh*t about what I’ve said for the first 30 years of my life. “I felt bad because I don’t think it’s cool to make those sort of judgements [in public] anyway. Like, keep it to yourself.” Pall later went on to say that Lady Gaga kills it.
