As The Chainsmokers are currently embarking on their Memories…Do Not Open tour, The Chainsmokers received some pretty surprising news today. On Twitter, The Chainsmokers wrote that two of their tracks just went platinum in the United States. The first song that went platinum was their single with Coldplay titled “Something Just Like This,” while their song with Phoebe Ryan for “All We Know” also went platinum.
In the past, “going platinum” means to sell more than one million copies of your song. With streaming taking over, the RIAA has updated the platinum rules so that 100 streams is equivalent to one download. Congratulations The Chainsmokers!
