Deadmau5 Pulls Together 500 Track Spotify Playlist

Even though deadmau5 isn’t the first person you think of when you think of techno, deadmau5 decided to share a 500-song, 46-hour Spotify playlist featuring some of the best techno tracks. While the Canadian DJ and producer does perform as his moniker Testpilot from time to time, we weren’t expecting this kind of playlist from the mau5.

Over the weekend, deadmau5 pulled in 496 songs into one hearty playlist featuring artists on his mau5trap record label. The playlist adds up to 46 hours of music and features artists such as ATTLAS, BlackGummy, REZZ, Rinzen and many more. Stream Deadmau5’s Spotify playlist below.

It’s a pretty wild flex when you think about it — most artists are lucky to fill out a two-hour DJ set, and here’s deadmau5 curating the equivalent of nearly two full days of nonstop music. The move also doubles as a serious spotlight on the mau5trap roster, giving lesser-known label signees like BlackGummy and Rinzen the same real estate as bigger names such as REZZ and ATTLAS, both of whom have gone on to become some of the label’s most recognizable acts.

What’s most interesting here is the genre pivot. deadmau5 built his career on progressive house and electro, and while his Testpilot alias has let him dip into techno and techier sounds for years, this playlist feels like his most public techno-forward statement yet. Whether it’s a hint at where mau5trap’s A&R is heading, or just deadmau5 sharing music he’s genuinely been digging, it’s a rare peek into the tracks influencing one of dance music’s most outspoken producers.

Building a playlist of this size also isn’t a quick copy-paste job — sequencing 496 tracks so that a 46-hour listen actually flows, rather than feeling like a random dump of songs, takes real curation. That level of care suggests this wasn’t a throwaway social media moment, but something deadmau5 genuinely wanted his fans to sit with.

At 46 hours deep, this isn’t something you knock out in one sitting — but if you’re looking to fill your queue with quality techno for the foreseeable future, deadmau5 just did the digging for you. Hit play above and get lost in it.
