Axwell /\ Ingrosso’s EP Will Be Released at The End of May

Nearly all of the information surrounding an album release from Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso has been a mystery. Back in November of 2016, Axwell Λ Ingrosso’s manager Amy Thomson revealed that the duo’s debut EP will be announced in January of 2017. While it’s been a few months since the album announcement, Amy Thomson revealed today that Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso’s new EP will come out at the end of this month.
In addition to the EP announcement, Thomson confirmed that the EP will include one track that has not been played yet called “Renegade.” “It’s summer gold,” Thomson confirms. “Renegade” is expected to drop mid-May, before the EP itself is released.

Stay tuned for Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso’s new track “Renegade.”
Turns out Thomson’s tip was dead on. “Renegade” dropped on May 12, 2017, riding in on those distorted, echoing vocals and a funky, old-school bassline that made it an instant highlight of the duo’s post-Swedish House Mafia catalog. Rather than arriving as a standalone single, it landed as the lead cut off a proper EP, More Than You Know, which Virgin/EMI had penciled in for release just days later – right in line with the “end of May” window Thomson had promised months earlier.
The EP itself didn’t stay a short release for long. By December of that same year, Axwell Λ Ingrosso folded “Renegade” and its EP-mates in with the rest of the singles they’d put out since going solo into a full-length album, also called More Than You Know. That record went on to earn Gold certifications in Brazil, Italy, and New Zealand, plus Platinum status in Denmark and Poland – solid proof that all the mystery Thomson had been managing paid off.
Looking back, this stretch of 2017 turned out to be one of the busiest and most successful of Axwell Λ Ingrosso’s run as a duo, right before the two Swedish House Mafia alums quietly stepped back from the project in 2018 to reunite with Steve Angello. “Renegade” remains one of the more replayed cuts from that chapter – proof that sometimes a manager’s Twitter reply really is the most reliable source in the game.
