Stream Coachella 2017: Watch Steve Angello NOW

This is it folks. Steve Angello has been counting down to something big this year at Coachella 2017. Now we finally get to find out what he is referring to. Is it new music, a new album or could it actually be the reuniting of Swedish House Mafia. Either way we are in for one hell of a set. So get your popcorn, glow sticks and Kandi and prepare to be transported away to Indio Calfornia when you press play below. All we know is that Steve Angello has something big planned for this year and we cannot wait to find out what it is.

Editor’s update: For anyone catching up after the fact, the Swedish House Mafia reunion rumors swirling ahead of this set didn’t pan out at Coachella. Steve Angello’s Weekend 1 performance in the Sahara tent was, by most accounts, a strong hour of old classics mixed with new material off his own upcoming solo project rather than a full SHM reunion. If you were hoping for Axwell, Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso back on stage together, that moment ended up coming later — Swedish House Mafia made their real, surprise return at Ultra Music Festival in March 2018, nearly a year after this Coachella set had fans speculating.

Still, that doesn’t mean this set wasn’t worth the hype. Steve Angello has always been known for turning his DJ sets into full productions, and this one reportedly leaned hard into elaborate visuals and stage design to go with the music — the kind of show that made it clear he wasn’t just going through the motions of a normal festival slot, reunion or not. For a guy who’d spent the previous few years mostly out of the SHM spotlight working on solo material, using a Coachella mainstage moment to remind everyone what he’s capable of on his own was a pretty smart move regardless of what did or didn’t happen with his old groupmates.

So if you’re going back to watch the stream now, don’t go in expecting a reunion moment — go in expecting a genuinely great Steve Angello set, which, by the accounts we’ve seen, is exactly what it was.
