Flume’s Live Set from Lollapalooza Brasil – Watch Here

Even though Flume didn’t perform at Ultra Music Festival in Miami, Florida, fans still had the chance to catch him live thanks to a set from Lollapalooza Brasil, which streamed online for anyone who couldn’t make the trip down to São Paulo. Brazilian festival crowds have a well-earned reputation for going off harder than just about anywhere else on the touring circuit, and this set is a good example of why artists love playing down there.

During his 19-song tracklist, Flume drops tracks from his album ‘Skin’ as well as a stacked run of remixes and covers that show off just how deep his production catalog runs. The Australian producer built his early reputation on flipping other artists’ songs into something that barely resembles the original, chopping vocals, stretching out bass, and layering in his own textures until the source material is almost unrecognizable, and this set is a pretty good crash course in that skill. Stream Flume’s full set from Lollapalooza below.

If you’re newer to Flume, this tracklist doubles as a pretty solid cheat sheet for the collaborators and covers that shaped his early sound, from Hermitude and Rustie to RL Grime and Disclosure. It’s also a good look at how much range Flume has live, bouncing between the woozy, glitched-out edits he’s known for and full-on festival-sized drops without ever losing the thread. He’d go on to keep building on that reputation for years, but a set like this from early 2017 is a solid snapshot of where his live show was at right as ‘Skin’ was still dominating setlists around the world.

Bookmark this one, run the set back a few times, and go fall down the rabbit hole of every original track he flipped along the way. Between the Tove Lo feature, the Lorde and Disclosure covers, and the Major Lazer flip, there’s a whole afternoon of listening packed into this single YouTube upload.
