In just a few weeks, Dutch duo Blasterjaxx will release their long-awaited 8-track EP called ‘XX Files'. The official release date is set for Friday, March 10th. The EP is a collection of brand-new tracks, some tracks of which you may have heard in their sets over the past few months. ‘XX Files' is set to show their diversity like never before and has fans anxious but excited for its release. Personally, I'm very interested in seeing if they test the waters in genres other than Big Room house which they are obviously known for. ‘Collide' is the first teaser for the EP, finding the duo in an anthemic and joyous mood.
The track is radio-friendly and centers itself around a euphoric vocal from David Spekter whose mood recalls classic trance bangers. Dramatic drums throb alongside offbeat bass pulses in the intro verse, with the chorus/breakdown decked out with big piano chords. A fierce synth lead rises out of the depths, slamming hard into focus on the drop and supported by a solid chord and bass pairing. This track has all the energy and more you'd expect from the Dutch duo. Take a listen below.
