Kygo and Selena Gomez Collab Due Out Thursday – Listen to a Sneak Peek

Kygo collaborating with Selena Gomez pretty much broke the internet entirely. One of the biggest stars in dance music teaming up with one of the most in-demand pop vocalists on the planet is the kind of pairing that makes both fanbases lose their minds at once, and the results should be stellar. The song is entitled ‘It Aint Me’ and it has been teased many times on both of the artists socials since the rumor was first started around Selena Gomez registering a track with Kygo to ASCAP.
Kygo took to twitter today to show off the fancy, star wars movie poster like cover art for the single, and also give fans News that the track will be released Thursday. Selena on the other hand posted to her Instagram story a pretty juicy teaser of the track. Take a look at both below. We are just under 48 hours away!

For anyone wondering how this pairing even came together, ‘It Ain’t Me’ ended up being the lead single off Kygo’s Stargazing EP, and it marked the Norwegian producer’s first real pop crossover moment with a vocalist of Selena’s stature. Kygo built his name on tropical house remixes and warm, sun-soaked instrumentals, so pairing that sound with Selena’s voice on a breakup anthem felt like a natural next step for both of their careers.
Update: the track officially arrived on February 16, 2017, and it did not disappoint. ‘It Ain’t Me’ went on to become Kygo’s highest-charting single in the US at the time, climbing all the way to number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 after debuting way down at number 93. It also topped the charts in Croatia, Lebanon, and Norway, and landed in the top five in Canada, Austria, and Denmark, plus the top 10 in the UK, Australia, and Spain. The song has since gone multi-platinum in a long list of countries, including a huge 9x Platinum certification in Canada and 3x Platinum in the US.
Not bad for a collab that started as nothing more than an ASCAP registration rumor and a couple of cryptic social media posts. Keep it locked to EDM Sauce for more.
