Producers Begin Removing Songs on SoundCloud Due To Fears of Takedowns

Following the news of Ookay's SoundCloud account being deleted after receiving his third copyright strike, more and more producers have began removing their unlicensed remixes from the streaming music platform.

Artists like Kayzo and Boombox Cartel have taken to Facebook to let their fans know that they have been removing all unofficial remixes, edits and bootlegs to save their SoundCloud accounts from potential takedowns.

Boombox Cartel has removed his remix of “Get Low,” “LRAD,” “Infinite Daps” and many others, while Kayzo has began removing a lot of his unlicensed remixes as well. Kayzo wrote “his is what soundcloud has come to and to be honest i would much rather keep my page and continue to release music for you all than to risk losing it all over something so small.”
