Having just dropped an awesome remix through Ultra Music, L'Tric are firmly making their mark on the house scene right now. We caught up with the duo to find out their top five musical guilty pleasures…
1) “Don't Stop The Rock” – Freestyle
This track has that 80s electro energy feel on lock! Driven by a monotone vocoder vocal, the juiciest of synth hooks and colossal 808 drums… no wonder it's a B-Boy / low rider anthem.
2) Human League – (Keep Feeling) “Fascination”
All about the bass line on this record… so funky, and just nailed to that Rushent drum machine groove. Can't believe this hasn't been sampled to death… ahh there's an idea!
3) Mr. Mister – “Broken Wings”
A huge record from the 80's that changed the way we looked at studio mixing. Combining elements of digital synths and drum machines with pop and rock, this record was loaded with effects and a perfect example of 80's era studio mixes.
4) Prince – “Purple Rain”
Saw the movie, loved the song, and became a complete Prince fan after. He took funk to a new level throughout his illustrious career.
5) De La Soul – “Eye Know”
Coming out of the 80's hardcore Hip Hop movement, these guys put a floral shirt on and showed the world that rap could be fun.
