SoundCloud Hires a Chief Revenue Officer

In quite the controversial move, SoundCloud has officially hired a Chief Revenue Officer as it prepares to launch its paid subscription service.

The company has hired Alison Moore to oversee its monetization strategy moving forward. What does this mean for SoundCloud? Expect more ads and creative collaborations between corporations to follow.

Despite attracting 175 million active users, SoundCloud has been struggling to bring in revenue with the company. In 2014, financial documents showed that SoundCloud lost $56.4 million. With experience in NBC's ‘TV Everywhere' and HBO Go, SoundCloud is betting big on Alison to help with the paid subscription model as well as other monetization entities with SoundCloud.
