David Guetta Feat. Sia & Fetty Wap – Bang My Head (Club Killers Remix)

David Guetta hit new single ‘Bang My Head’ ft. Sia & Fetty Wap gets an accompanying remix today by Sin City duo Club Killers, who turn up the bass, hi-hats, and set this one future-forward for festival speakers far and wide. This isn’t the first time the guys have remixed a Guetta track, their last remix of “Hey Mama” Featuring Nicki Minaj and Afrojack has seen over 15 million plays to date. “After the success of our “Hey Mama” remix for Team Guetta we’re very excited to see what happens with this new project. We’re quite honored to be asked once again to work on another David Guetta project. We love the idea of bringing Sia’s amazing vocals with 2015’s biggest new act Fetty Wap. We just tried to make something that people can move to more in the clubs”, the pair remark.

‘Bang My Head’ comes off the tail end of Guetta’s Listen album cycle, and pairing Sia’s vocals with a then-red-hot Fetty Wap was a pretty savvy pop move — Sia was riding high off her own run of hits and features around this time, and Fetty Wap was arguably the most inescapable new voice in music in 2015, so a Guetta track built around both of them was never going to fly under the radar.

Guetta’s Listen album leaned harder into big pop songwriting than a lot of his earlier work, stacking guest spots from artists like Sia, Nicki Minaj, John Legend, and Emeli Sandé rather than leaning purely on drops and buildups, and “Bang My Head” fit that mold perfectly — a genuine song first, festival weapon second. Handing it to a remix crew known for the opposite instinct, all drop, all dancefloor, made for a nice contrast between the original single and this version.

Club Killers built their reputation as go-to remixers for exactly this kind of big pop-dance crossover record, and their back catalog is stacked with reworks of major label singles that DJs actually want to drop in a set rather than just skip past. Landing a second Guetta remix after the reception “Hey Mama” got is a pretty clear sign the relationship between the artist camp and the duo is a good one.

It’s easy to see why David Guetta keeps coming back to remixers like this — a good club-ready remix can extend the life of a single well past its initial radio run, giving DJs a version built specifically for the dancefloor instead of the polished pop mix built for streaming and radio. Give the Club Killers remix a spin below and see how it compares to the original.
