The Bay Area's Psy Fi has celebrated solid releases but his latest effort on MalLabel Music is unquestionably his most polished work yet. Colors keeps the same psychedelic and dreamy themes that we've seen from the young producer before but what sticks out is how crisp everything goes together. The stellar mixing allows every kick and wonky synth to stand out and expand the way only all good bass music should. Psy Fi has also recruited a host of talented remixers to stir things up. My personal favorite goes to Muppet Punk‘s extra dirty version of Redliner. The ethereal atmosphere combined with crushing distorted beats makes for top notch glitch and future bass, and Psy Fi is kicking off 2016 in a memorable fashion.
