Whether it was at festival over the summer, a club one weekday night, or even just a song on Soundcloud you just happened to be listening to in the library studying, the name 3LAU persists. Most of us at one point or another have heard one of man's remixes, mashups, or 3LAU HAUS extended mixes. I myself am guilty of throwing on some 3LAU to crank up the energy and get the party started, but in these past two months it looks as though he is trying a little something new. A few weeks back, the man behind the moniker released his mashup “3LAU vs Justin Bieber – What Do You Mean Again,” which was well received with almost 400,000 plays despite being a bit different than his usual work. Never being one to rest easy, 3LAU just released a remix to Shawn Mendes song “Stitches.” After hearing the song, I spoke with Justin briefly about what prompted his change of pace. When asked why “Stitches” prompted a remix, 3LAU said that the song has been all over the radio recently and that he was really into the style it portrayed. Justin went on to say that the production is very different for pop music and that it inspired him to make something that people could move to.
