Anyone who has been following Diplo's career since the start of his Major Lazer days knows that the Florida native simply keeps hustling until there's a new goal. Even after the trio dropped studio album #3 earlier this year (Peace is the Mission), the hype for studio album #4 is already in full force. In a recent interview, Diplo revealed that “Music is the Weapon” should be out by next summer and a single with The Weeknd should be expected by Coachella time.
He broke the news to AMP RADIO:
“We’ve got a little more gas in Major Lazer, we’ve got another single coming out. We’re reissuing that album, so there’s five new tracks. Then we have a new album we’re going to put out next year around August or September and a single around Coachella with The Weeknd, so that’s going to be dope.”
The next Major Lazer album, meanwhile, is coming soon. Rumors have already been confirmed that Belgian sensation Selah Sue will be on it. The Soul, R&B, and reggae hybrid act blew up in 2011 with her self-titled debut album.
Diplo also told AMP that he “just received master files for 5 new songs for a re-issue” of their latest album, Peace is the Mission. Check out Major Lazer‘s website for more info on the release of the deluxe album.
