When one door closes another opens. Shortly after Carl Cox announced the end of his 15-year Space Ibiza residency, the highly praised techno DJ announced the launch of his very own techno festival in Australia to inthemix.
The aptly titled festival ‘Pure' will begin in April 2016 with the first two host cities being Melbourne and Sydney. With the location still TBA, Cox is focusing on curating the best underground house and techno DJs,
‘A lot of it will just be down to availability and timing, but primarily you’re going to have the best DJs playing the best music'
Cox hopes to make Pure an annual festival for his most dedicated fans, ‘when we last spoke to all of the international DJs who are interested in being involved in our festival, they’ve all said, yep, we’d like to do it', Cox continues, ‘Hopefully we can build it into something annually for Australia'.
