The James Bond franchise is in a bit of a renaissance thanks in large part to director Sam Mendes and lead actor Daniel Craig. Their second film together (third Bond film for Craig) will be Spectre, set for an October release. This week, more news surfaced about the music for the film as well – pitting already confirmed singer Sam Smith together with the guys who brought him to prominence with the hit single “Latch” – Disclosure.
Smith has announced that their track, “Writing's on the Wall,” has already been recorded and is set for an official release on September 25th. The Disclosure boys confirmed this announcement on Twitter (see below). Check out Sam Smith on Instagram for more posts like this one below and stay tuned for this exciting tune to get released.
“Spectre” is expected to open in theaters in the United States on November 6th.

This is one of the highlights of my career. I am honoured to finally announce that I will be singing the next Bond theme song. I am so excited to be a part of this iconic British legacy and join an incredible line up of some of my biggest musical inspirations. I hope you all enjoy the song as much as I enjoyed making it. You can pre-order ‘Writing’s On The Wall' on CD or vinyl using the link on my profile, or on iTunes from midnight. A photo posted by Sam Smith (@samsmithworld) on
