L.A. County Approves Electronic Music Task Force, No Word on Ban

Following the death of two teenagers that had attended HARD Summer music festival, Los Angeles County began to propose new laws and regulations on the dance music scene in the county.

Yesterday the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors voted and approved the formation of an “Electronic Music Task Force” that would provide recommendations on how to make electronic music festivals safer for attendees.

The task force was brought upon by the L.A. County Mayor Michael Antonovich and Supervisor Hilda Solis.

The task force will “develop recommendations for enforceable health and safety measures and procedures, that would be required for all electronic music festivals on County-owned property.” The motion also stated that a ban on electronic music festivals remain a possibility.
