Governors Island Beach Club turned into Maxximize Island last Sunday with Timmy Trumpet, Matisse & Sadko, LOUDPVCK, D.O.D. and Joe Ghost taking the stage which all lead up to the two hour DJ set with headliners Blasterjaxx. This was the first time I attended a show with such insane bass and hardstyle EDM. Randall’s Island which hosts many other summer EDM events surely did not disappoint!
The Maxximize event was a sold out show despite being held on a Sunday evening! Maxximize represents Blasterjaxx’s latest venture, Maxximize Records, the Dutch duo’s own Record Label adorned with their signature double ‘xx’ included in the name. Judging from their set and their taste in music, I'm sure Blasterjaxx will have amazing DJs and hard hitting tracks on their up and coming record label.
Blasterjaxx took the stage after sunset with a crowd of summer ready ravers fist pumping and cheering in excitement to their big room house tracks! Mixing crowd pleasing and foot stomping tunes such as Blasterjaxx’s remix of Linken Park’s ‘In the End’ with sick views of downtown Manhattan lit up in the background. Blasterjaxx ended the Sunday Funday by giving away awesome Blasterjaxx Headphones to Blastersoliders in the crowd. Can’t wait for Blasterjaxx to return to New York City, if guys haven’t checked out Blasterjaxx yet you definitely should! Check them out on their latest episode of Maxximize On Air!
