With his next single “Clear Conscience” landing at the start of next week, we've got the highly talented producer and DJ DeModa ready to share his five musical guilty pleasures today. Be sure to look out for his forthcoming “Polar South” LP – it's sure to be full of creativity and unique flavors.
1) Linkin Park – “Lying From You”
The problem with Linkin Park is that I like almost all of their songs equally. I picked this one because I just love that sample — or instrument, or whatever it is — in the beginning.
2) Mobb Deep – “Shook Ones Part II”
This song brings out my gangsta side. I memorized all the lyrics for street cred, but when I rap along to it, I feel like a thug.
3) O-Town – “All or Nothing”
Back in the day, when me and friends used to hang out on the weekends, we’d walk down the street singing that song at the top of our lungs — but it was ironic! And funny! I swear!
4) Black Keys – “Weight of Love”
I love the old, psychedelic-rock feel. For some reason, it resonates with me more than any of their other songs, probably because it’s so sad and depressing. I like that shit. I can relate!
5) Porter Robinson – “Sea of Voices”
An ambient track that is absolutely beautiful. With no drums in the beginning then an explosion of synths and heavily wet reverb drums, plus the most poetic lyrics I’ve ever heard, I’d consider this one in a category all its own.
