Calvin Harris Is The Most Streamed EDM Artist Worldwide
In 2014, Spotify’s 50 million users listened to seven billion hours of music and created more than 700 million playlists this year. Spotify’s year-end wrap-up gave fans a genuinely fascinating window into the platform’s biggest breakout moment for dance music that year: Calvin Harris landing as the highest-streamed EDM artist on the entire platform, a milestone that put him in rare company alongside the biggest pop stars in the world.
Spotify announced that Pharrell’s “Happy” was the most-streamed song globally this past year, but coming in third place though was Calvin Harris’ hit track “Summer.” Overall Calvin Harris was the 4th most-streamed artist in all genres of music, trailing behind Ed Sheeran, Eminem and Katy Perry.
