Moonrise Festival Pre-Event Review

Calling all bass heads, house maniacs, and rap lovers from across the world, “Moonrise Festival is your Christmas in August!!” Specifically August 9th and 10th. While other festivals seem to have an abundance of one specific genre, the creators of the Moonrise Festival have reached out beyond the limits of the mainstream to snatch up artists that will capture your heart, body, and mind.

The diversity in the two day lineup allows for participants to experience several different genres of music in a single day. These genres consist of Dubstep, Rap, House, Trip-Hop, Glitch-Hop, Melodic-Bass, Trap, as well as D&B. But it does not stop there! Each artist has there own style within these genres! Listeners will be able to hear the extremely hard bass of Excision and Bassnectar then switch to the funkier dubber, Rusko. From there you can take a stroll over to Kaskade‘s stage where nothing but beautiful overtures will emit from his massive speakers, followed by the impossibly talented Tommy Trash. Then you may want to end your day with the hood beats and hard lyrics of ASAP Ferg, finishing off with the always fun Wacka Flocka Flame.

There are of course tons of other artists like Adventure Club, DJ Snake, Zeds Dead, Carnage, DotCom, Audien, Infected Mushroom…the list goes on and on. This will be by no means an easy going music event that people should take lightly. You will either leave Baltimore drained till next march when Ultra comes back around, or pumped for the next time you get to listen to a weekend's worth of musical perfection; probably EZoo.

Last years Moonrise Festival was cancelled because of permit issues, but as of right now this festival taking place in the heart of Baltimore is scheduled to move forward as planned, so be prepared.
