Moby – In This World (Lost Frequencies Bootleg) (Free Download)

Moby’s class “In This World” got a 2014 redo by Lost Frequencies. The Belgian producer told EDM Sauce what drew him to this song after more than 10 years.

“I’m a big fan of Moby for a long time, (by big fan I mean I love all his classics stuff and trip-hop beats)… this song popped on the radio, and I was like “Damn, I have to make my own version of this track” , I immediately knew what to do!”

We hope you enjoy the Lost Frequencies’ down-tempo, snare-fueled bootleg of “In This World”. Make sure you follow Lost Frequencies on soundcloud and check out his facebook for free downloads.

This bootleg came out years before Lost Frequencies was actually famous

It’s wild to look back at this now knowing Lost Frequencies, real name Felix De Laet, was still just a guy doing free bootlegs on SoundCloud in 2014. “Are You With Me” wouldn’t turn him into a legit global pop-dance star for another few months after this. Bootlegs like this “In This World” flip were exactly the low-key, tasteful groundwork that got him noticed before the breakout hit that changed his whole career trajectory.

The original “In This World” comes from one of Moby’s biggest albums

Worth remembering the source material here isn’t some deep cut, “In This World” comes off Moby’s 2002 album “18,” the follow-up to his massive breakthrough “Play.” That album leaned into the same sample-heavy, emotionally rich production Moby had become known for, so a producer like Lost Frequencies choosing to bootleg it over ten years later says something about how well those songs held up. Not every early-2000s dance record ages into something a new generation of producers still wants to rework.

Free bootlegs were basically an audition tape back then

Nobody was clearing sample rights or paying for an official remix license on a track like this, “bootleg” here just meant an unofficial, free flip made purely because a producer loved the source material. For someone still building a following like Lost Frequencies was in 2014, giving away tracks like this for free wasn’t really optional, it was the standard way an unsigned artist got noticed at all before streaming numbers and label deals started rolling in. Every bootleg was basically a free audition for bigger opportunities down the line.
