Back in December, Gemini posted a lengthy message on his Facebook page explaining his downtime in 2013, and how he was ready to release a lot of new music, including a full-length album, in 2014. It had been almost an entire year since the young dubstep producer debuted his latest remix of Ellie Goulding's “Explosions,” but now, Gemini has given us the first taste of the productions he has in store for us this year with his new remix of Hobbie Stuart's “Still Here” (which conveniently contains the message that Gemini is indeed still here and never left).
Rich strings slowly crescendo for the intro, then pass the baton to strong piano chords and Stuart's vocals while filtered drums pound in the distance. The buildup brings the catchy lead chord pattern while the twinkly arpeggio synth gradually enters, and then drops with Gemini's signature smooth and wavy bassline to create a beautiful blend. Whether you're familiar with Gemini or not, this ought to get you excited for what else he's going to put out this year.
