Mountain Oasis Set to Rock the East Coast

The East Coast will be lighting up this weekend with the kick-off of Mountain Oasis music festival. Spanning 3 days, the festival will bring heavy-hitters Pretty Lights, Bassnectar, Nine Inch Nails, Cut Copy and Claude Vonstroke to Asheville, North Carolina. The festival will take place October 25-27, a weekend previously occupied by the city's popular festival Moogfest. In previous years, Moogfest was ran by festival organizer AC entertainment. After AC and Moogfest parted ways this spring, AC took ownership of that weekend and created Mountain Oasis. You may recognize the AC Entertainment name from some of their other popular festivals like Bonnaroo and ForeCastle.

Although it may seem like an unlikely candidate for such a festival, the city of Asheville is a breed of its own. Asheville is the home of the Moog synthesizer and has long championed forward thinking, experimental and electronic music. In the spirit of inovation, the festival will also be hosting several panels that will be free for ticket holders. Among the panels will be an inventor's roundtable featuring several inventors of analog instruments, an artist spotlight interview with synth-pop legend Gary Numan, and a mixing demonstration put on by members of the Waves Audio Team.
