Deadmau5 has taken to Twitter to express his latest thoughts on the state of Electronic Dance Music. Deadmau5 says that Nic Fanciulli was the last DJ to make it as a DJ and now most DJs are here because they've produced a hit track and uses Martin Garrix as an example.
I still think Nic Fanciulli was the last DJ to make it as a DJ. Now it's just a buncha producers like me who pretend to be DJ's.

what I'm SAYING is… what label signs a DJ these days? none i know of. They'd need to have "a hit" or whatever.

to put it in context, i think a label would sooner sign Martin Garrix for producing 1 "hit" than Dj Sneak for a lifetime of playing records.
