Just annouced Electric Zoo, taking place this weekend at New York City's Randall Island, is cancelling their last day of the festival. UPDATE 10AM 9/1: City Officials and event promoters have agreed to cancel the final day of Electric Zoo, one of the last festivals of the summer season, due to the unfortunate death of 2 concert goers due to suspected overdose on MDMA. As many as 4 others are in the hospital in critical condition. The names of the two dead have not been released, however they were a 23 year old male and 20 year old male – the two did not know each other.
UPDATE 11AM: The two dead are Jeffrey Russ, 23, of Rochester and Olivia Rotundo, 20.
UPDATE 9/2:Electric Zoo and Made Events released this statement late yesterday: “We will be issuing full, automatic 100% refunds for SUNDAY passes. 50% refund for 2-Day FRI/SUN passes, including 1/2 service fees. 33% refund for 3-Day FRI/SAT/SUN passes, including 1/3 service fees.
