What could be better than participating in a 5K with a few of your closest friends? How about a 5K that takes place at night on a course that is lit only by glow in the dark swag and then celebrating the event at a post-race dance party? LivingSocial is inviting you to do just that. The LivingSocial 5K Dance Party will be coming to a city near you. This past weekend they were in Chicago and the next two scheduled stops are Atlanta and New York City.Other cities on the line up for this summer are Denver, Washington DC, San Francisco, Seattle, San Diego, Philadelphia, and Los Angeles.
LivingSocial has partnered up for this event with Mercy Corps and d.light to “light up the night” not just here in your local city but across the globe. Part of the proceeds from these events will be used to donate 500 solar lanterns to school children in Somalia without electricity, enabling them to read and study at night.
The price to participate varies with the location and the price will go up as the event draws closer, so grab a group of friends and buy now.
