Best of Imogen Heap (The Remixes)
Admit it, you’re obsessed with Imogen Heap. But there are SO many remixes of Imogen that it’s easy to get bogged down by the mixed bag of dubstep, electro, progressive, trance, yada yada. Admittedly, there are some fairly terrifying disco edits out there too. So today I combed through soundcloud to pull out the best of Imogen Heap remixes for ya’lls listening pleasure.
Heap’s catalog is basically a goldmine for remixers, and it’s easy to see why. That mix of glitchy vocal production, layered harmonies, and just enough of a pop hook to work on a dancefloor means producers from every corner of the genre have taken a crack at her songs over the years. “Hide and Seek” alone has been flipped so many times it could probably fill its own compilation on its own. Here’s the rundown we landed on:

Of course, we could never forget Tiesto‘s version – which is ultimately the most popular. Officially billed as the “In Search of Sunrise Remix,” his take turned “Hide and Seek” into a full-blown trance anthem and introduced Heap to a whole new crowd of festival kids, most of whom probably had no idea the original was just her voice, a vocoder, and barely any percussion at all. It’s a good reminder of how much room a great song leaves for reinterpretation when the bones underneath are strong enough.
