Lumberjack is Jim Zerga and Chris Vallée, a French DJ and production duo who met around 2011 at Mix Club in Paris and made things official as a project in late 2012. Zerga leans toward electro rock influences while Vallée gravitates to trance, and that mix of backgrounds is part of what gives Lumberjack’s sound its range – big room energy with a melodic, festival-ready edge.

Early tracks like "Monarch" and "Kheops" put them on the radar of the European dance scene fast, and by 2015 their single "Warrior" was being talked about as one of the year’s best breakthrough releases. That same year they remixed Axwell and Bob Sinclar’s "What a Wonderful World," picking up support from names like David Guetta, Hardwell, Tiësto, and Afrojack along the way – the kind of co-sign that tends to open doors in this industry.

Lumberjack’s release history reads like a tour through dance music’s biggest labels – they’ve worked with Spinnin’ Records, put music out through Universal, and landed on Hardwell’s Revealed Recordings. Their 2019 track "We Rolling" became a surprise festival favorite that summer and got a big placement boost when it was picked up for the Netflix film Sentinelle.

More recently, the duo teamed up with Almero for "Born To Rave" and BRØMANCE for "Deep Fear," both released in 2021, and took their sound to festival stages including Summer Cruise and Fireland Festival that same summer. Over more than a decade together, Zerga and Vallée have built Lumberjack into one of France’s steadier dance-music exports – proof that a friendship that started on a club dancefloor in Paris can turn into a real career.
