Kill Paris

Kill Paris is the project of Miami-based producer Corey Baker, and if you’ve ever heard a track with a rubbery bassline, warm analog-feeling synths, and a soulful vocal chop dropped at exactly the right moment, there’s a decent chance it was him. His sound blends house, funk, electro-soul, and future bass into something that feels a lot more musical and live-played than most bass-adjacent producers bother with, which makes sense given his background actually playing instruments before he ever touched a DAW.

Baker’s breakthrough came in the early 2010s when Skrillex heard his music on SoundCloud and signed him to OWSLA, the kind of cosign that instantly puts a bedroom producer on festival radars. His 2013 project To A New Earth came out on OWSLA and set the tone for what Kill Paris would become: funky, soulful, and unmistakably his own thing even while sitting next to heavier bass music labelmates. He followed it with the Foreplay EP in 2014 and Galaxies Between Us in 2015, then landed on Monstercat for 2019’s Galaxies Within Us, expanding his sound and his reach even further.

Over the years Kill Paris has shared stages with artists like Zedd, Bassnectar, Big Gigantic, Illenium, and Manic Focus, and racked up headline tours, festival slots, and multiple Red Rocks appearances along the way. At one point Baker stepped away from the Kill Paris name to release music under his own, using the time to become an Ableton Certified Trainer and dig deeper into the technical side of production. But he’s since made his return to the Kill Paris project official, bringing over 15 years of experience and more than 200 million streams worth of craft back to the name that built his career.

That mix of a genuine comeback story and a sound rooted in real musicianship is what makes Kill Paris stand out in a scene that can sometimes feel like it’s chasing the same three sounds.
