Jessie Andrews built a genuine lane for herself in dance music, stepping behind the decks and into the studio starting in 2012 and turning it into a real production career.
She got her start the way a lot of producers do — putting out free remixes and building buzz from there. Her reworks of Anna Lunoe & Flume’s “I Met You” and Disclosure and Sam Smith’s “Latch” circulated widely and helped establish her as someone who actually knew her way around a track.
From there, Andrews built out a real discography across several labels. She released “I Never Knew” in 2013 and “You Won’t Forget Tonight” in 2014 through Ultra Records, one of dance music’s most recognizable imprints. She also put out the In Motion EP in 2014 and Usually Deep EP in 2015 via ZIVS/Metropolis Records, followed by “GRIND” and “Slowly” on OneLove Recordings in 2015 and 2016.
Andrews backed up the studio work with a serious touring schedule. She ran a six-city Canadian tour in fall 2013, played major festival stops across Asia including dates in Singapore, Jakarta, and Bali, and hit North American clubs throughout 2015. That November, she joined the lineup at Australia’s Stereosonic festival circuit and shared the decks with Diplo for a Sydney show — the kind of booking that only comes once you’ve put in real work on the production side.
By 2016 and into 2017, Andrews shifted more of her energy toward other creative ventures, but the run she put together as a DJ and producer stands on its own — a genuine, label-backed catalog and festival resume built from the ground up during dance music’s mid-2010s boom. For a scene that was flooded with hype acts in that era, Andrews’ output held up because the tracks were real and the labels behind them were legitimate players in house and bass music.
