EDM Artists >> Connor Cruise

Connor Cruise isn’t just riding on his family name — the guy’s actually put in real time behind the decks and in the studio. Yeah, he’s Tom Cruise’s son, but dig past the tabloid headlines and you’ll find someone who genuinely fell for electronic music and started building a catalog to prove it.

Connor got his start producing and DJing in the early 2010s, dropping original tracks like “Closer To Heaven” and “Back Where We Started” on SoundCloud. “Closer To Heaven,” a collab with Mason Musso, eventually landed an official release through Listening Deep Records and hit Beatport and Spotify as a proper single — not just a bedroom demo. He even debuted the track live at a listening party, the kind of grassroots move real up-and-coming producers make when they’re trying to get a song in front of the right ears.

He didn’t stop at originals, either. Connor got into remix work early, reworking MNDR’s “Feed Me Diamonds” alongside DJ Poet and Chebacca for a release through Ultra Records — which is no small co-sign in the dance music world. He also took a crack at a remix for Australian pop duo The Veronicas, showing he could flex outside straight-up EDM and still make a track move.

On the performance side, Connor’s played real club dates, including a headlining DJ set at San Francisco’s Temple nightclub to celebrate his 21st birthday, where he was billed as an enthusiast of electronic dance music who wanted the crowd dancing, not just watching. That’s the kind of gig where you either can mix or you can’t, and promoters don’t book someone with a famous last name and nothing else for a full club night.

Is Connor Cruise a headliner at the world’s biggest festivals? Not yet, and we’re not going to pretend otherwise. But he’s got a real production and remix résumé, an Ultra Records credit, and actual stage time DJing to a crowd that came out for the music. That’s more of a foundation than plenty of artists get, and it’s worth keeping an eye on where he takes it next.
