Arty is one of those producers who basically grew up alongside the modern EDM boom, and he’s still putting out music that matters. Born Artem Stolyarov in Engels, Russia, back in 1989, Arty’s breakthrough came in 2009 when Above & Beyond heard something special and signed him to Anjunabeats. That same year his single “Bliss” landed on Armin van Buuren’s A State of Trance compilation, which is basically the trance equivalent of getting knighted. From there, he never really slowed down.

Sound-wise, Arty’s always been tough to pin to one lane. He came up in progressive house and progressive trance, but over the years he’s dipped into big room, tropical house, future bass, and straight-up pop without ever losing that melodic, emotional signature that made people fall for him in the first place. His debut album Glorious dropped in 2015 and climbed to #14 on the US Dance/Electronic Albums chart, proof that his sound translated way beyond the festival tent.

Along the way he’s built a catalog of tracks that trance and progressive heads still throw on regularly: “Rebound” with Mat Zo back in 2011, “Bloodfire” in 2016, “Supposed to Be” in 2017, and “Save Me Tonight” in 2019, which got a music video directed by Noah Centineo and starring Lily Collins. He followed up Glorious with a second album, From Russia With Love, in 2020, nodding to his roots while still chasing new sounds.

Arty’s collab list reads like a who’s who of dance music heavyweights: Armin van Buuren, Above & Beyond, BT, Paul van Dyk, Mat Zo, Matisse & Sadko, Audien, and even a crossover with OneRepublic and a K-pop-adjacent link-up with Eric Nam. That range is really the whole story with Arty — he’s never been content staying in one corner of the genre, and that restlessness is exactly why he’s stuck around this long.
