This Researcher Believes The EDM Drop Is The Key To Understanding Craving Disorders

The Melbourne University neuroscientist, Kiralee Musgrove, is seeking volunteers who enjoy listening to EDM for a new study of his. The researcher believes the brains of electronic dance music fans may hold the key to developing new therapies for those suffering from craving disorders.

During an interview with a news station in Melbourne, Musgrove said “we're looking for people to help us understand why and how certain people crave what we call ‘the drop' when they're listening to electronic music.”

Musgrove believes that the craving fans feel during an upcoming drop along with the tension in the build up, can lead to breakthroughs in a range of disorders including self-harm, substance abuse and eating disorders.

In response to the study, the university has requested volunteers from Melbourne from the ages of 18 to 40 years old that enjoy EDM and do not have any hearing disabilities.
