The Bingo Players just released their entire set from EDC Vegas in full HD and for free download, one of the only acts eligible to do so. If you weren't at EDC, this is your best chance to relive the action. In his set, Maarten surges through diverse tracks and BP originals. The performance was bittersweet for many fans – in July 2013, Bingo Player Paul Baumer announced on their facebook that he had been diagnosed with cancer. Sadly, his battle with the disease lasted just six months… leaving his other half, Maarten Hoogstraten, behind.
Maarten has carried on solo, as Paul requested. Seeing it in person from the crowd, there were actual tears shed. For myself, I remembered one of Paul's last posts on their Facebook page –
I’m ready to fight this thing and hope to be on that stage again with you guys in the future.
Hearing those tracks at EDC this year, seeing the empty place next to Maarten, was hard. But I felt like Paul was there in spirit, nodding along with the beat. He would have been proud.
