Newly announced from German streaming giants SoundCloud is a built-in distribution service to add to their current options for artists. The first company to do so have said that acts can upload their work directly to the following: Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon Music, YouTube, Instagram and Tencent.
Being trialled now in beta for premium users, SoundCloud have assured that this move will still allow artists to keep 100% of their rights, alongside third-party royalties from other places.
It seems to be a bid to keep users on the site, with the added bonus of being able to be a middle-ground between the music and the consumer. Time will tell whether the move takes SoundCloud to another level, but this is sure to encourage users to give it the distribution element a go.
