Teocino is a Basel-based DJ and producer whose love for electronic music started early. Shaped by influences like Avicii, Martin Garrix and Swedish House Mafia, he began refining his sound after picking up his first controller in 2021 and committed to his career in 2024. Looking ahead, 2026 marks a year of bold goals and new direction.
What key lessons or shifts from 2025 are shaping how you’re approaching 2026?
2025 was a year where I really learned the importance of patience and trust in the process. I spent most of the time creating rather than releasing, which allowed my ideas to fully develop. While a lot of that work leans toward bigger, more energetic records, I was also exploring different tempos and moods in the studio. Going into 2026, I feel much more confident in my direction and focused on releasing music that reflects the full range of what I do, not just one side of it.
When you think about 2026, what excites you most about the projects or ideas you’re planning to explore?
What excites me most is finally bringing my mainstage Techno and Trance productions to a wider audience, especially in live settings. At the same time, I’m equally excited about sharing more intimate and melodic records that show another dimension of my sound. I like the idea of balancing high-energy tracks with music that creates space and emotion.
Are there any creative directions or sounds you feel ready to lean into more in the new year?
Yes, I’m leaning further into emotional storytelling through music. That includes expressive vocals, uplifting melodies, and strong drops, but it also means allowing tracks to breathe when they need to. Not every record has to be built for peak time, and I’ve become more comfortable exploring depth, atmosphere, and subtlety alongside mainstage energy.
Is there a personal or professional goal you’re setting for 2026 that feels especially important to you right now?
Personally, staying healthy and physically fit is very important to me, especially as the lifestyle becomes more demanding. Professionally, one of my main goals is to play sets where more than half of the music is my own productions, showing different sides of my sound within the same performance.
How do you hope your project or brand will evolve over the next year compared to where it stands today?
I want my project to feel more clearly defined but not boxed into a single category. I want people to recognize my sound instantly, while also understanding that there’s emotional and stylistic range within it. The goal is clarity without limitation.
Are there any collaborations, spaces, or industries you’re particularly interested in exploring in 2026?
Yes, collaboration is a big focus for me this year. I’m working with producers and singers who each bring a different perspective and energy, which helps keep the music fresh. I’m also interested in environments that allow for more storytelling, whether that’s through visuals, longer sets, or concept-driven releases.
What does “growth” look like for you in the year ahead, creatively, culturally, or commercially?
Growth means being able to release music consistently while staying true to myself. Creatively, it’s about refining both my high-energy productions and my more emotional, melodic work. Culturally and commercially, it’s about building a fan base that connects with the feeling behind the music, not just the genre label.
Is there something you’ve been holding back on that 2026 feels like the right time to finally pursue?
For a while, I felt pressure to focus only on what works best in a club or on big stages. In 2026, I’m allowing myself to be more honest and release music that feels right, even if it doesn’t fit a specific trend or expectation. That freedom has been very motivating creatively.
How do you want audiences to experience your work differently in 2026?
I want audiences to feel a clear step forward in terms of maturity and depth. The new music shows more confidence, more emotion, and more variety than before. Whether it’s a mainstage moment or a more introspective track, I want people to feel that there’s real intention behind every release.
If you could describe your vision for 2026 in one sentence, what would it be?
2026 is about owning a recognizable sound while showing its full emotional and stylistic range, from powerful mainstage moments to deeper, more personal records.
Driven, focused, and evolving, Teocino moves into 2026 ready to release more music, reach wider audiences, and take the next step forward. The journey is just getting started.
