Sekai Releases Future Bass Track “Big City Lights”

Having released on labels NoCopyrightSounds, Disciple Records, and other well-established dance-based imprints, Sekai is taking a more independent direction with “Big City Lights.”

“Big City Lights,” puts a fulfilling and down-right fun spin on the genre of future bass. Recording his own vocals for this track, Sekai organically incorporates a sunkissed topline into the poppy sidechain-infused production. The solo DJ/producer captures some big energy here, taking the tempo down a couple of notches from the typical 140BPM, this twist paired with the live-percussion feel built in accentuates the head-bobbing aura intrinsic to the sonic nature of this production.

With 4 releases now under his belt this year, 3 collaborations and remixes, Sekai's diverse palette of genres embraced becomes more defined, yet fittingly juxtaposed by the detectable connective-tissue when listening single-to-single. This tissue being is distinctive as Sekai’s sound. The pathology here gives a deeper, complete impression of his creative direction as of late.

‘This is a long-distance love song, across countries and lifestyles. The song encapsulates the thrills of a would-be romance in her big, extravagant city, with the wistful perspective of my quiet, rural town across the world. – Sekai

Biography:

Known to many as Sekai, Tiago Salvador is a musician from the beaches of rural Portugal. He has a decade of music production under his belt, exploring genres ranging from dubstep and future bass to pop and R&B. What started as a solo project with the hope of connecting to others quickly became a declaration of self-expression, as Tiago began incorporating vocals and lyricism from his collaborators into tracks featured on NoCopyrightSounds, Disciple, Odio Records and MA Music. Throughout his career, Sekai has worked with other renowned names including Chime, Whales, and Rob Gasser; producing tracks that anyone can dance to, while singing about deeply personal experiences of love and heartbreak.

Currently, Sekai continues to flourish as an independent singer/songwriter, making lovesick pieces that fit right into a pop playlist, but still retain the unmistakable production techniques found in EDM. Tracks such as “ILY,” “Sway”, and “Mirror,” are among the first singles from this new catalogue, with countless more slated to release.
