Identical twin brother electronic music production duo MC4D release their first original with GLNNA, “Looking for Love”, available on all platforms. Released on TNT Records, the song makes for a perfect late-summer soundtrack, featuring pristine vocals from Los Angeles native singer GLNNA.
“Although my solo career is full of retro / pop / R&B tunes, I couldn’t help but layer MC4D’s track with my vocals. When I first heard the track, the melody came to me instantly. I felt a connection to their production and was really happy to be a part of it. The song is about being vulnerable with your insecurities in a relationship. You want to ask the hard questions, without them harming the partnership. I think it’s honest and real, yet hopeful. Anyone can relate to it.” – GLNNA
Known for her collaborations with artists such as CID and Flux Pavillion, GLNNA‘s thoughtful and melodic writing is reminiscent of timeless rock and pop classics, such as those found on one of the best selling records of all times – Fleetwood Mac's “Rumors.” Her tone and pop sensibility perfectly compliment the musicality and technical expertise that MC4D brings to their productions, influenced by Cash Cash and Zedd. From the stripped-down pre-chorus stacked with richly harmonized vocals, to the hard hitting electro-edged drop – this unique combination of talents yields a refreshing take on dance music and is a clear sign of great things to come for both acts.
“Having to work remotely, we typically send a lot of versions back and forth to one another before we settle on something we vibe with, but with GLNNA’s stand-out vocals, we immediately knew the direction we wanted to take the song. We wanted to incorporate her vocals in the drop, and manipulated the pitch of her hook vocal to make a pretty unique sound.” – MC4D
MC4D is the music duo consisting of identical twin brothers Matt & Chris Drake, who grew their following and established themselves as label remix staples with their work over the past two years. While Matt and Chris are recent college grads from Duke and Dartmouth, respectively, the brothers have worked collaboratively despite their distance apart, and have used it to their advantage to grow. Their work process allows them to create ideas that compliment each other’s styles, leading to songs that are much better than what just one of them could do alone. Since the creation of MC4D in 2018, the brothers have released official remixes for Justin Caruso, Frank Walker, Ryan Riback, NEIKED, FRND, Youngr, Wrabel, Tep No, Jocelyn Alice, and Anna Clendening among others, with labels like Sony, Warner, Universal, and Ultra.
