Subtronics and Zeds Dead Finally Release “Bumpy Teeth”

2019 has been a huge year for bass music crossovers, and this collab is one fans have been asking for since the two acts first started teasing it on social media months back.

Popular music producers, Zeds Dead and Subtronics have officially released their exciting new collaboration “Bumpy Teeth.” Fans have been waiting for a collaboration like this for quite some time, especially because of Subtronics’ sudden breakout this year. Thankfully, the waiting has finally ended and now we all have the chance to listen to the new single.

The new track fulfills any listeners craving for some serious wubs and wonks Not only can you jam to the song, but you can also just vibe to it. It doesn’t contain an overwhelming amount of bass, but it also doesn’t lack any either. If you are looking for a track that is not too bass-heavy but can still have you moving, then check out “Bumpy Teeth.” Let us know what you think about it in the comments below.

This pairing makes a ton of sense on paper. Zeds Dead have been staples of the bass and dubstep scene for well over a decade at this point, running their own label in Deadbeats and consistently pushing the genre in new directions. Subtronics, meanwhile, spent 2019 rocketing from riddim mainstay to one of the most talked-about names in bass music, thanks to a relentless release schedule and a sound design style that’s instantly recognizable the second a drop hits. Getting these two in the studio together was always going to produce something worth paying attention to.

“Bumpy Teeth” leans into a groovier, more mid-tempo pocket rather than going for maximum aggression, which ends up being one of its biggest strengths. Instead of trying to out-riddim each other, the two acts let the track breathe, giving the bass design room to actually be appreciated rather than just steamrolling the listener. It’s the kind of collaboration that works just as well in a headphones-on, close-your-eyes listening session as it does dropped into a set at 2 AM.

With Subtronics’ star still very much on the rise and Zeds Dead showing no signs of slowing down, don’t be surprised if this ends up being the first of several team-ups between the two. Considering how packed both of their release schedules and tour calendars were heading into the end of the year, the fact that they carved out time to finish this collab and get it out to fans before 2019 wrapped up says a lot about how much they wanted this one out in the world.

Give “Bumpy Teeth” a listen below and let us know if you’re feeling the vibe as much as we are.
