“Last month you guys released your single ‘Amsterdammed.' What was your inspiration for creating that track?”

Nils (Yellow Claw)
“We created that song a while ago and we immediately had a vibe of like a movie or like an animated style we wanted to create with it. That turned into this whole brainstorm, during that session actually, which made the entire plan of making that song, the comic book, the music video, and the whole back story behind the song.”

EDM Sauce
“Next month you guys will be releasing your new album, Never Dies. Would you guys be able to share a bit of what we can expect from that album?”
Jim (Yellow Claw)
“New songs! A lot of new stuff that we've been working on. A lot of hard songs.”

EDM Sauce
“Will you be planning a tour for the album?”

Jim (Yellow Claw)
“No.”

EDM Sauce
“You two will be performing in a little bit at EDC Orlando. Can you elaborate on what we can expect from that performance?”

Jim (Yellow Claw)
“A lot of the new songs from the album. A lot of new songs from the label, Barong Family, and some good beats.”

Nils (Yellow Claw)
“EDC Orlando is always a great testing ground to try out some new material. We always feel obligated to share some new work during a festival like this because it's so big and so relevant.”

EDM Sauce
“You both travel a lot to perform in front of your fans from across the world. Does it ever become hard to not be home and do what you want to do?”

Nils (Yellow Claw)
“During the first year, it was easy because everything was new. Performing and everything is the best and that's the most blessed life you can wish for, but the flying really wears you down. Sometimes, of course, it is hard. He [Jim] lives in Asia and his flights coming to the states most of the time is around 25-30 hours, usually spread out over three flights. So that's hard. But all the performances, the big shows, and being able to see a lot of the world makes up for it.”

EDM Sauce
“That actually leads me to my next question. Do you guys have any favorite places that you've traveled to?”

Nils (Yellow Claw)
“Oh, too many to name! We both really like Indonesia, Bali, Japan, especially Tokyo and Osaka, and many more.”

Jim (Yellow Claw)
“One of the festivals I like traveling to is EDC Las Vegas. That is like the #1 festival. It is one of the few festivals that I actually enjoy walking around. Being able to be in the desert and watching the sun come up, there is nothing like it.”

EDM Sauce
“Is there anything you would like to say to your fans? Any news or surprises?”

Nils (Yellow Claw)
“Basically, what you started earlier about our album coming out soon. We're going to be dropping a lot of new songs and there's super exciting stuff happening on the label [Barong Family]. There are so many new, exciting, refreshing, innovating artists. That gives us so much drive. We've been playing many songs from the label. Our label is like a candy store that has all of these new flavors that we inject into our own sets and that's huge.”
