Ocaso Underground Music Festival, Costa Rica’s premiere house and techno event, announced its return for their fourth year to Tamarindo Playa, Costa Rica on January 9-12th 2020. Ocaso will once again play host to six days of cutting edge electronic music, surrounded by picturesque jungle and oceanfront backdrops in one of the most desirable vacation destination in Central America.

Since 2017, Ocaso has built up a reputation of bringing highly sought after tastemakers and local Central American talent to its home in Tamarindo. Previous Ocaso performers have included Claptone, Doc Martin, Jamie Jones, Loco Dice, Guy Gerber, Damian Lazarus, Sacha Robotti, Desert Heart’s Mikey Lion & Lee Reynolds and many more.

This year, Ocaso will further its mission of sustainability by partnering with the Costa Rican government to plant fruit bearing trees on the land of the local indigenous people. In turn, carbon credits will be provided by the Costa Rican government to offset the consumption created during the festival and ensure a carbon-neutral footprint. Ocaso also partnered with Tamarindo Beach Clean and The Wave to organize beach clean-up events throughout the year. In 2018, clean-up efforts successfully gathered and recycled around 4 tons of trash prior to the festival. Ocaso has created an unparalleled community of underground enthusiasts, dedicated to both avant-garde music and the sanctity of the festival’s beautiful home. It's wonderful to find more and more festivals and entertainment companies such as Lightning In A Bottle and Live Nation among others looking to offset the often negative environmental impacts left by large festivals

and festivalgoers.

Outside of its world-class music programming, Ocaso’s hometown of Tamarindo offers a plethora of cultural activities available to festival revelers, from surfing legendary breaks or  snorkeling through magnificent coral reefs to hiking luxuriant nature trails. Local cuisine, shops, and bars also give attendees the chance to immerse themselves within Costa Rican culture and relax in the beachside locale.
