Listen To Live Sets From Ultra Miami 2019 [Day 1] (Marshmello, Tiesto, Carl Cox & More)

Day 1 of Ultra Music Festival 2019 took place yesterday from its new venue on Virginia Key in Miami. While it didn’t go off as smoothly as planned with multiple issues with transportation getting off the island and even a fire that broke out, the music and the vibes were still there.

This was Ultra’s first year on Virginia Key after decades at Bayfront Park downtown, and the move came with some real growing pains. Getting on and off the island turned into a mess, with thousands of fans stuck waiting for buses and shuttles for hours after the music wrapped, some reportedly walking down the causeway just to get back to civilization. On top of that, a fire broke out near one of the festival structures, adding even more chaos to an already rough first night logistically. Even with all that, once you were actually inside and the music was playing, the lineup delivered exactly what you’d want from a Day 1 at Ultra.

As always, Ultra provides us with a glimpse into the weekend with their live streams on YouTube. Day 1 brought us some massive names including Marshmello, Tiesto, Nicky Romero, Alesso, Carl Cox, Adam Beyer, & more. Below we have compiled some of these sets for you to listen to and try to resolve some of that FOMO we all have right now!

Whatever you want to call opening night on Virginia Key, the takeaway is the same: Ultra’s production and lineup can still bring it even when the logistics don’t cooperate. Carl Cox and Adam Beyer held it down for the techno heads, Marshmello and Tiesto covered the mainstage energy, and Dog Blood reminded everyone why Skrillex and Boys Noize together is still one of the best surprise combos in dance music. Hit play on whichever set fits your mood and relive Day 1 for yourself.
