Over this past weekend, Alesso took part in the Venezuelan Live Aid Concert in Cúcuta, Colombia, a city near the Venezuelan border. The live event was free to the public and all funds to produce the event were done through donations. Over 30 artists performed donating their time to participate in the concert benefit including Alesso, and well known Latin American artists such as Maluma, Danny Ocean, Lele Pons and more. According to the official Venezuela Aid Live website, the three main goals of the concert is to “to create awareness of the current situation [in Venezuela], to reopen the Venezuelan borders in order to get the humanitarian aid in, and to obtain enough funds to design and carry out a sustainable social investment that will benefit Venezuela and help bring it and its people back.”
Alesso was the only non-latin artist on the lineup and was basically the voice in the EDM community for this cause. Alesso's set included his ever uplifting and inspiring hits “Heroes” “Under Control” and “Calling.” Deciding to take part for both his Latin American fans and close Latin friends/artist he has worked with he had the giant crowd at the border dancing more than at any other part of the day and received an outpouring of appreciation on social media from grateful Venezuelan fans. Alesso also took to social media after the live aid concert to express his gratitude.
We hope Alesso and his music continue to bring awareness to world causes and help to heal the world and bring people together. If you wish to donate to this cause, you can do so on the official Venezuela Aid Live website.
