In 2018, The Chainsmokers did a massive 180 in the eyes of many fans. While their debut album saw tons of commercial success, many of their OG fans were rubbed the wrong way that Memories: Do Not Open had more of a pop sound.
The guys buckled down and found a way to please their more EDM focused fans as well as the legions of fans who found them through their radio hits. The result was Sick Boy, and episodic album which was released across almost the entirety of 2018.
On this masterful album were songs that ranged from aggressive dubstep to folk crossover and everything in between. This time it really felt like art, like The Chainsmokers were finding their place in the complex world of EDM crossover acts. For these reasons, we are incredibly excited to hear what is next from Alex and Drew.
And surprisingly enough…it appears we will not have to wait long. The guys took to Twitter today to announce that new music will be dropping soon. Check out the announcement below and stay tuned for new details as they are released.
