Insomniac’s Countdown New Year’s Eve Lineup Includes Tiesto, Afrojack + more

Countdown has become one of Insomniac’s signature end-of-year traditions, and this year’s edition marked the festival’s fifth trip around the sun. Since launching in 2014, Countdown has built its identity around a full-blown extraterrestrial mythology — Insomniac’s own lore dates “first contact” back to 2015, and every year since has leaned further into the alien-invasion theming that’s become the event’s calling card on the West Coast dance music calendar.
Over the weekend, the social media accounts of Insomniac’s 5th annual Countdown New Year’s Eve festival revealed the lineup for its upcoming bash. However, the lineup was meant to be decoded (and some clever fans were able to figure out the roster) from some alien language since their translator was broken. Well, the codes have been cracked and today, the official lineup dropped.
Some of the artists partaking in the new year celebration on December 31st at the NOS Events Center in San Bernardino, California include Tiesto, Afrojack, Zedd, Shiba San, Alison Wonderland, Dillon Francis, RL Grime, Andrew Rayel, Zomboy, Snails, and Camelphat amongst many others.
This year’s festivities will mark the return to a single-day event and will include new Alien invasion themes and stages.
General Admission tickets go on sale Friday, November 2nd and will start at $99.99 before taxes and fees, and VIP passes will be available starting at $199.99 plus taxes and fees. Tickets will be available at CountdownNYE.com. Layaway plan options will also be offered.

San Bernardino’s NOS Events Center has become something of a home base for Insomniac’s Southern California events over the years, regularly hosting other festivals under the company’s banner, so Countdown regulars know the venue well by now. With a single-day format back in play for this edition and a lineup stacked with everything from Tiesto’s big-room pedigree to RL Grime and Zomboy’s heavier sounds, this year’s bill is shaping up to be one of the more eclectic Countdown lineups yet. As always, expect the full alien-invasion stage production and theming that’s made this one of the most visually over-the-top ways to ring in the new year on the West Coast.
