Armin van Buuren Releases The Euphoric ASOT 900 Anthem – ‘Lifting You Higher’

Armin has had quite an interesting year in 2018. The legendary trance producer has worked outside of his comfort zones, producing tropical house to piano ballads. Across the board, fans have approved of Armin’s work outside of trance as he is capable of instilling palpable emotion into every record he produces. Today though is all about Trance.

Armin van Buuren – ‘Lifting You Higher’

The ASOT 900 anthem is true to its moniker: it is going to put you into a state of trance. ‘Lifting You Higher’ is a euphoric roller coaster ride that lasts just under 3 minutes. While there was never a discussion on whether Armin could produce some of the best Trance around, it is incredible to see him return to the genre after a handful of experimental releases.

Take a listen to ‘Lifting You Higher’ below and get ready for ASOT 900 which is set to take place in Utrecht on February 23, 2019.

ASOT 900 Actually Happened, and It Was Massive

For anyone wondering whether the hype lived up to the event, it did. A State of Trance 900 went down as planned at Jaarbeurs in Utrecht on February 23, 2019, and it sold out. “Lifting You Higher” became the official soundtrack of the night and later anchored the A State of Trance 900 (The Official Album) compilation that followed the festival. It’s a tradition Armin has kept up for years now — each major ASOT milestone gets its own anthem, and this one carried the same job that anthems like “The Expedition” did for ASOT 600.

A Franchise Two Decades in the Making

A State of Trance itself started as a radio show back in 2001 and has since grown into one of the biggest branded events in dance music, with editions held across multiple continents. Armin’s willingness to dip into piano ballads and tropical house throughout 2018 never really threatened his trance credibility — if anything, tracks like this one prove he can step away from the genre and come right back to reclaiming his spot as one of its defining figures whenever a milestone calls for it.
