The Chainsmokers Dropped Another Brutally Heavy ID In Atlanta Last Night [WATCH]

The Chainsmokers have been working tirelessly to make 2018 their biggest year yet. While the duo achieved massive mainstream success in years past, Alex and Drew have refocused on producing some of the finest electronic music to be heard this year.

During their Ultra set the guys debuted a ton of new music that ranged from the expected to the heavy and wild. As The Chainsmokers continued to tour around America they began teasing even more new productions. These have included tracks with both QUIX and NGHTMRE and both of which were absolutely insane.

Last night in Atlanta, the guys dropped another bass-heavy tune that will leave you in shock and awe that The Chainsmokers are bringing this level of heat. It seems that we should expect a new EP or album by the end of the year or in early 2019. Check out the video below.

The Aazar Collab Surfaced Days Later

This heavy ID lines up almost perfectly with the timing of “Siren,” The Chainsmokers’ collaboration with Aazar that arrived just under two weeks later as part of the expanded version of their Sick Boy album on October 26, 2018. Aazar had already been working closely with the duo throughout that era, and the trap-leaning sound of “Siren” matches the brutal, bass-forward energy fans described hearing at Q-Topia in Atlanta.

A Busy Stretch For The Duo

2018 was a pivotal rebuild year for The Chainsmokers. After years of dominating pop radio, Alex Pall and Drew Taggart leaned back into their electronic roots, road-testing a wave of unreleased IDs alongside acts like QUIX and NGHTMRE before folding many of them into Sick Boy. The album ultimately expanded to eight tracks and became one of the more divisive records of their career, but it also showed a duo actively trying to reconnect with the dance floor that made them in the first place.

Q-Topia Kept The Momentum Going

Q-Topia had already built a reputation as one of Atlanta’s go-to spots for touring dance acts to test unreleased material on a crowd that shows up specifically to hear something new, and this set fit right into that tradition. It’s exactly the kind of room where an ID like this either becomes a legend or gets forgotten by the next tour stop.
