The Las Vegas Strip Will Go Dark Tonight In Honor Of The Route 91 Massacre

Today marks a grim anniversary for the largest mass shooting in American history. One year ago today, Stephen Paddock murdered 58 individuals and wounded over 400 more when he opened fire from a hotel suite overlooking the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas.

After over a year law enforcement is still struggling to find a motive for the attack. Paddock took his life shortly after reigning down his hail of bullets. In memory of the tragic event, Las Vegas is holding a moment of silence and darkness this evening.

One Year Later…

At 10:01 local time in Las Vegas, all marquees on the strip will go dark to honor the victims of the attack. The governor of Nevada has also ordered that all flags be flown at half mast tomorrow.
